Biography
Dr. Takeshi Ohta is currently working as a special senior research scientist in Biological/Pharmacological Research Laboratories, Central Pharmaceutical Research Institute at Japan Tobacco Inc., Japan. He graduated from the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Japan. He received a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University.
He served as a joint researcher at Chiba University Graduate School of medicine, Japan. He has directed several projects to develop new drugs for metabolic diseases including diabetes and obesity. He has characterized new hereditary animal models of diabetes and its complications, Spontaneously Diabetic Torii rats and SDT fatty rats.
