Biography
Dr. Uttam Kumar Mandal is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM-Kuantan), Malaysia. Additionally, he is heading R&D department, IKOP Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, a GMP approved commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in an academic set up. He obtained his B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and PhD degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He worked for two years as Post-doctoral Fellow at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Geneva, Switzerland with Dr. Y. N. Kalia on transdermal drug delivery system.
He has also worked in Manufacturing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance department of reputed Pharmaceutical Industries in India for three years after his B. Pharm. While pursuing M. Pharm and PhD degree, he has worked as laboratory head at Bioequivalence Study Centre, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata-700032, India and was involved in bioavailability and bioequivalence research in various capacities like pharmacokinetic evaluation, bioanalytical method development by HPLC & LC-MS/MS and statistical data interpretation. Based on his diverse fields of research works, so far, he has been able to publish more than forty research papers in various high impact factor journals.
