Biography

Prof. Anil Kumar is the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, Jharkhand. He is also the General Secretary of Association of Neuroscientists of Eastern India and Jharkhand State Neurosciences Society. Prof. Kumar has special interest in Neurotrauma. Since he took over as the Department Chair at RIMS, Ranchi, in an attempt to deliver prompt neurosurgical care to Neurotrauma patients, he has played a significant role in developing the department and state of the art neurosurgical operating theater at his institute. He is a preeminent teacher and an academician with several publications to his credit. Having been in neurosurgery service for more than 25 years, he, this day, on an average operates on more than 500 head injury cases every year, other than routine cases. He also has interest in Microneurosurgery and Neuroendoscopy.

Right from his medical school days Prof. Kumar has been associated with Rotaract Club, Rotary International and other NGOs in organizing health awareness, blood donation and health check-up camps. He has been instrumental in spreading awareness regarding prevention of road traffic accidents. Prof. Kumar is committed to providing exceptional clinical care in order to provide the highest quality outcomes for his patients.
