Reza Yazdani, PhD, Assistant professor and Faculty member at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran, Vice President of Research Center for Immunodeficienies, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He earned his Ph.D. in medical immunology from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the Research Center for Immunodeficiencies (RCID) at Tehran University of Medical Sciences as an assistant professor. RCID is the pre-eminent center in Iran for primary immunodeficiency (known as inborn errors of immunity [IEI]). He then spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, USA. Upon returning to Iran, he became a faculty member and currently serves as the Vice President of the Research Center for Immunodeficiencies at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. His research focuses on investigating the pathogenesis of IEIs, with a particular emphasis on diagnosing IEI using flow cytometry. He has received numerous awards and honors and has published over 160 scientific papers in international journals. He is honored as top 1% of highly cited scientific researchers in the field of Immunology, Essential Science Indicators (ESI, Web of Science). He also serves on the editorial boards of several international journals and has presented numerous lectures and posters at congresses and meetings.
