Biography

Dr.Boris Sabirzhanov is the Faculty Research Associate of Shock, Trauma and Anesthesiology Research (STAR) Center, Department of Anesthesiology, School of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.

He completed his Postdoctoral fellow in Neuroscience Group, Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences, Sanford School of Medicine, University of South Dakota, Vermillion.

Dr.Boris Sabirzhanov received many grants and awards for his research in Neural Mechanisms of Adaptive Behaviorfrom Center of Biomedical Research Excellence. He holds membership in Society for Neuroscience USA. He has publications in various National and International Journals and also serves as an Editorial Board member.

Dr.Boris Sabirzhanov presented Posters and delivered Oral sessions in symposiums relevant to Anesthesiology and Neuroscience.

Research Interest

Molecular mechanisms of neuronal cell death in neurodegenerative disorders. Particularly, I am interested in the investigation of posttranscriptional and epigenetic regulation of genes expression in neuronal apoptosis. Another area of my research is the identification of microRNAs (miRs) biomarkers for the detection of neurological injuries.
